Zaplet technology was designed to enable customers to rapidly model and create highly collaborative applications for their internal policy approval processes.
The Zaplet technology significantly influenced MetricStream platform capabilities to easily and flexibly model a business process including Work Flows, forms and content. This capability allows a user to easily model their business processes for internal policies and approvals.
The technology delivers application forms - called zaplets, through email for users. The email is sent by the application to users with forms embedded inside the email to display current information and collect additional data. When the user receives the email from the application, (s)he opens the email, reviews the information already in the form, then enters the relevant information in the form and hits send.
The patented technology ensures that the information is current when viewed by the user vs. when sent by the system - enabling "real-time" information delivery to the user. The application processes the email from the user, as if the information inside the email form was entered on an online application by the user. Such a solution enables a user, who needs to a part of the internal policy approval process, to work within the familiar email system without needing to learn to navigate and use the application. Hence Zaplet technology results in a significantly increased user adoption at dramatically lower training costs in a distributed organization. 100% adoption of an application by everyone who interacts with the process (managed by that application) ensures successful compliance.
